September Recap

September was full of community and team spirit here at Wilson Toyota! We kicked off the month by cheering on the Cyclones during the annual Cy-Hawk rivalry. We were also proud to sponsor and support the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) walk, helping to raise awareness and stand with survivors and families in our community. From football fun to meaningful causes, our team was excited to be part of the moments that matter most this September.

ABOUT

My fiancée, Jessica, and I live in Granger with our two kids — Collins, who is three, and Tripp, who is nine. Tripp is heavily involved in sports, and right now it’s football all the time in our house. When I have free time, I love heading up north to go fishing. I’m also slowly working on restoring a 1948 Dodge Power Wagon. I went to high school at Woodward-Granger and later continued my education in Houston, Texas.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH WILSON TOYOTA?

I’ve been with Wilson Toyota for 18 years! I started working here when I was just 20 years old.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF IN YOUR CAREER SO FAR?

I take a lot of pride in my strong work ethic and in the quality of work I deliver.

WHY WILSON TOYOTA?

Wilson Toyota gave me a chance early on, and over the years they’ve continued to support me and allow me to grow my skills.

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CAR?
My first car was a 1997 Pontiac Firebird.

WHAT IS YOUR HIDDEN TALENT?

A fun fact about me is that I once restored a 1968 Suburban that eventually sold at the Barrett-Jackson auction.

This content was aggregated from local dealer and data and insights provided by the USA Today Network Automotive Insights team using Google Gemini and the Vehicles For Sale Near Des Moines Register Edition marketplace writing team. Why the Toyota Camry Continues to Be One of the Best Values in the Automotive Market In today's fast-paced world, finding a vehicle that offers lasting value, reliability, and everyday practicality is more important than ever. While the automotive market constantly changes, one model consistently stands out for its ability to deliver on all these fronts: the Toyota Camry. For decades, the Toyota Camry has been a top choice for drivers seeking a smart investment in their transportation. What Creates Value in a Modern Vehicle? True value in a modern vehicle goes beyond just the purchase price. It encompasses a blend of factors, including long-term reliability, fuel efficiency, advanced safety features, comfortable interiors, and a strong resale value. A vehicle that excels in these areas provides peace of mind and saves money over time, making it a truly valuable asset. Why Buyers Continue Considering Sedans Despite the rise of SUVs, sedans like the Toyota Camry remain a popular choice for many reasons. They often offer better fuel economy, a smoother ride, and easier handling in urban environments. Sedans are typically more aerodynamic, which contributes to their efficiency, and their lower center of gravity can provide a more engaging driving experience. For many, the classic sedan design simply makes sense for daily life. How the Toyota Camry Supports Daily Commuting For daily commuters, the Toyota Camry is an ideal partner. Its impressive fuel economy helps keep gas costs down, with models like the 2026 Toyota Camry SE FWD achieving an estimated 48 MPG in the city and 47 MPG on the highway. Even the 2026 Toyota Camry SE Nightshade AWD offers excellent efficiency at 46 MPG city and 46 MPG highway. The comfortable seating and quiet cabin make long drives more enjoyable, while features like Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smart device wireless mirroring keep you connected without distraction. Advanced safety systems, including Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) hands-on cruise control and Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, add an extra layer of confidence to every journey. Family Transportation Considerations When it comes to family transportation, the Toyota Camry provides a safe and spacious environment. Its generous interior offers ample room for passengers and cargo, making it suitable for school runs, grocery trips, and weekend adventures. The robust suite of safety features, including Curve Speed Management automatic curve slowdown cruise control, ensures that everyone on board is well-protected. Families appreciate the reliability of a Toyota Camry, knowing it's built to handle the demands of everyday family life. Comfort and Convenience Benefits The Toyota Camry is designed with comfort and convenience in mind. Standard features like Apple CarPlay/Android Auto ensure seamless smartphone integration. Available options can further enhance your experience, such as heated front seats for those colder mornings, an Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirror with HomeLink, and a Smart Key System for easy access. For an elevated experience, some models offer a Power Tilt/Slide Panoramic Roof with Power Sunshade, bringing in more light and an open feel. Why Ownership Confidence Matters Ownership confidence is invaluable. Knowing that your vehicle is built to last, requires minimal maintenance, and holds its value provides immense peace of mind. Toyota's reputation for quality and durability means that when you choose a Toyota Camry, you're investing in a vehicle that you can depend on for years to come. This confidence allows you to focus on the road ahead, rather than worrying about unexpected issues. How Long-Term Satisfaction Influences Value Long-term satisfaction is a key component of a vehicle's true value. A car that continues to perform reliably, offers consistent comfort, and maintains its appeal over time contributes to a higher overall ownership experience. The Toyota Camry consistently ranks high in owner satisfaction surveys, largely due to its proven dependability and low cost of ownership. This long-term satisfaction directly translates into a strong resale value, making the Toyota Camry a smart financial choice. What Owners Appreciate Most After Purchase After purchasing a Toyota Camry, owners frequently highlight its outstanding fuel efficiency, smooth and quiet ride, and the comfort of its interior. The intuitive technology, especially the easy integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, is also a common point of praise. Most importantly, owners appreciate the peace of mind that comes with owning a vehicle known for its exceptional reliability and safety, allowing them to enjoy their car without constant worry. Which Buyers Benefit Most from the Toyota Camry? The Toyota Camry is an excellent choice for a wide range of buyers. Commuters will appreciate its fuel efficiency and comfortable ride. Small families will find its spacious interior and advanced safety features reassuring. First-time car buyers will benefit from its reliability and ease of ownership. Anyone seeking a dependable, practical, and long-lasting vehicle that offers great value will find the Toyota Camry to be an outstanding option. What Shoppers Should Evaluate Before Purchasing Before purchasing any vehicle, shoppers should evaluate their specific needs, budget, and desired features. Consider how the vehicle will fit into your daily life, whether it's for commuting, family transport, or weekend trips. It's always recommended to take a test drive to experience the vehicle firsthand. This content was aggregated from local dealer and data and insights provided by the USA Today Network Automotive Insights team using Google Gemini and the Vehicles For Sale Near Des Moines Register Edition marketplace writing team. Why Toyota Tacoma Technology Has Become a Major Selling Point for Modern Truck Buyers Today's truck buyers are looking for more than just raw power and rugged capability. While the Toyota Tacoma has always been known for its strength and reliability, modern drivers also expect advanced technology that makes their lives easier, safer, and more connected. This shift means that the tech features in a truck like the Toyota Tacoma are now a major reason why many people choose to buy one. Technology: A Key Consideration for Truck Buyers In the past, technology in a truck might have meant a good radio. Now, it means a whole suite of features designed to enhance every part of the ownership experience. From daily commutes to weekend adventures, technology plays a crucial role. Buyers want their truck to be an extension of their digital lives, offering convenience and control right from the driver's seat. How Connectivity Improves Ownership Satisfaction Staying connected on the go is more important than ever. Features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, available wirelessly in the Toyota Tacoma, allow drivers to seamlessly integrate their smartphones. This means easy access to apps, music, messages, and calls through the truck’s display. This level of connectivity doesn't just make driving more enjoyable; it improves ownership satisfaction by keeping you in touch with your world, no matter where the road takes you. Digital Displays and Information Accessibility Modern trucks feature advanced digital displays that put all the information you need right at your fingertips. Instead of traditional gauges, drivers can customize what they see, from navigation directions to vehicle performance data. This easy access to information helps drivers stay focused on the road while quickly getting updates about their journey or truck's status. Driver-Assistance Technology Benefits Safety is a top priority, and driver-assistance technologies offer peace of mind. The Toyota Tacoma includes systems like Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection and Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS-P) forward collision mitigation. These features actively help prevent accidents by warning drivers of potential dangers and even applying brakes if needed. Hands-on cruise control also makes long drives less tiring, adding to overall safety and comfort. Navigation and Route-Planning Tools Getting lost is a thing of the past with integrated navigation and route-planning tools. Whether you're exploring new trails or just trying to find the quickest way to work, these systems provide clear, turn-by-turn directions. They can also offer real-time traffic updates, helping you avoid delays and reach your destination more efficiently. Smartphone Integration Advantages The advantages of smartphone integration go beyond just entertainment. With Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, you can use your phone's navigation apps, stream podcasts, and even dictate text messages without ever picking up your device. This hands-free operation is not only safer but also incredibly convenient, making every trip in your Toyota Tacoma more productive and enjoyable. Technology Benefits During Commuting For many, a truck is also a daily commuter. Technology makes these daily drives significantly better. Features like hands-on cruise control reduce driver fatigue, while seamless smartphone integration allows you to catch up on audiobooks or calls. The advanced infotainment system can transform rush hour into a more relaxed experience, making the 2026 Toyota Tacoma an excellent choice for city and highway driving alike. How Technology Supports Outdoor Adventures The Toyota Tacoma is built for adventure, and its technology supports this spirit. While the specific 2026 Toyota Tacoma models available at Wilson Toyota of Ames in Ames offer rugged capabilities, technology enhances the outdoor experience. Features like integrated trailer brake controllers (available on certain trims) make towing easier and safer, while available power outlets in the bed can power tools or camping equipment. Even remote access features can be beneficial when preparing for a trip. Why Convenience Influences Truck-Buying Decisions Ultimately, convenience is a huge factor in truck-buying decisions. Buyers want a vehicle that fits seamlessly into their busy lives. Technology delivers this convenience through effortless connectivity, intuitive controls, and features that simplify tasks. From starting your truck remotely to easily finding your way, these technological advancements make owning a Toyota Tacoma a truly convenient experience. What Buyers Should Compare When Evaluating Truck Technology When evaluating truck technology, buyers should compare: Ease of Use: Is the infotainment system intuitive? Connectivity Options: Does it offer wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto? Safety Features: What driver-assistance systems are included? Utility Tech: Are there features that aid towing, hauling, or off-roading? Updates: How does the system receive updates?
