Big thanks to everyone who braved the cold with us and helped make January a great start to the year. Meet February Employee Spotlight, Danny! Danny Wilson Dealer Principal ABOUT I was born in Des Moines and grew up in Ames, attending Crawford Elementary, Ames Middle School, and Ames High School before heading to Baylor University. I married my college sweetheart, Shana (yes, she’s a Texas girl), and we have two amazing daughters, a cool son-in-law, and the sweetest grandson, Little Thomas. My first job at a car dealership was back in the ’80s, where I was assigned to “weed patrol” on the lot while I was still in middle school. WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU WERE YOUNGER? I originally went to college to be a high school guidance counselor! WHO IS SOMEONE YOU LOOK UP TO? My Dad! He was my best man at my wedding, my business partner, and is now the grandfather to my kids. WHAT IS A HABIT THAT'S MADE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN YOUR LIFE? Exercise, without a doubt. I run, ski, swim (triathlons), and bike. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WAY TO SPEND A DAY OFF? Any day I’m not working or traveling for work is a good day to be with my family. WHAT IS ONE THING YOU CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT? My morning coffee — especially when it comes from my favorite possession in the world, my Breville! Looking Forward into February Are you ready for commitment? Take advantage of our Three Oil Changes for $220 plus tax – that’s three dates with us, and your ride will thank you. We’re also offering a Headlight Buff for $49.99 plus tax for those who may not be ready for a long-term commitment just yet. After all, we think you should ghost your ex, not your maintenance. We’re also spreading a little love this month with Valentine’s chocolates from Chocolaterie Stam on Main Street for our customers. It’s our small way of saying thank you for choosing Wilson Toyota and trusting our team with your vehicle. We look forward to seeing you in February and making your visit a sweet one.

October Recap October brought plenty of creativity (and laughs!) to the office. Our Halloween costume contest did not disappoint — from Bob Ross and a wacky inflatable tube man to Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy, and even all the emotions from Inside Out, the costumes were unforgettable. We also celebrated Boss’s Day, tipping our hats to the leaders who keep our team inspired, supported, and on track. View all of our halloween photos here: https://ryleetilton.pixieset.com/wilsonhalloween/ Meet November Employee Spotlight, Zach! ZACH CARROLL Service Advisor ABOUT Hi! My name is Zach, I am 24 years old, and I am a service advisor here at Wilson Toyota! I’m not originally from Ames, but from a small town an hour west of here named Glidden. I moved to Ames in the summer of 2021. It was a big change for me coming from a small town and my family being less than 10 minutes away, but I have grown to like Ames quite a lot. Moving an hour away for some may not seem like a lot, but I grew up being the youngest of 5 siblings and were very close growing up, and it made the move a little more difficult. Since my time in Ames, I have picked up serval different hobbies and met some of the most incredible people. I love going to the movies and hanging out with my beautiful girlfriend Emily, or going out and golfing with my best friend Aidan (Who I just got to be the best man at his wedding on the 18th of October). My older brother Caleb in his wife Molly live in Ames as well, and I hang out with them and their puppy Gideon. Ames has been quite the change for me, but it has made me grow, and made me excel in areas that I would not have thought I could. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH WILSON TOYOTA? I have been with Wilson Toyota for a year and 8 months! WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF IN YOUR CAREER SO FAR? I am most proud of how much I have grown in confidence and allowed myself to learn about an industry I had no idea about before I started here. Working in service has taught me that it’s okay not to know all the answers, but it has given me the people and resources to find the answers I need. WHY WILSON TOYOTA? If you would have told me when I first moved to Ames that I would be working at a car dealership, I would have called you crazy. I did not know the first thing about cars or to be honest have any sort of interest in learning about cars. A friend told me about the job opportunity here and at the time I was not enjoying my other job so I thought I would give it a chance. The atmosphere was the first thing that caught my attention even from my interview I could tell that things were different here. I am very thankful for the opportunity to work here and excited to continue to grow and excel here. WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CAR? I didn’t start driving until I was 20 years old and my first car was a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. WHAT IS YOUR HIDDEN TALENT? I don’t know if it is considered a hidden talent, but I love to run. My goal is to be able to run a marathon before the end of next year! November Happenings November is shaping up to be just as exciting! We’ll be celebrating Thanksgiving together as a team, enjoying good food and great company. Plus, we’re spreading some extra cheer in Marshalltown with our turkey giveaway — giving back to the community and sharing the holiday spirit. We’re also looking forward to our blood drive on November 19 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in our indoor showroom. It’s a wonderful chance for our team and community members to come together and help save lives.

June Recap As we roll into July, we’re reflecting on a fun-filled June and looking ahead to an exciting month to come. Summer is in full swing, and so is the Wilson Toyota team! In June, we kicked things off by celebrating National Donut Day with some sweet treats that brought plenty of smiles to the dealership. We also spent our Friday nights out in the community at the Jaycee Summer Concert Series at the Bandshell. It was the perfect way to unwind each week, enjoying great music, fresh air, and the chance to connect with the Ames Community. Meet June's Employee Spotlight, Jovana! JOVANA CORDOVA Sales Professional ABOUT I was born and raised in Marshalltown, Iowa, I moved to Ames shortly after graduating high school. I attended Marshalltown Community College while working at Menards, where—fun fact—I also met my boyfriend, Josh. We have a one-year-old pup named Archie, our playful one-year-old pup. He’s a mix of Golden Retriever and Australian Shepherd, which means he’s full of energy! In my free time, I enjoy taking Archie on walks and spending time at the lake. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH WILSON TOYOTA? I have been at Wilson Toyota for about 1 year and eight months. WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF IN YOUR CAREER SO FAR? I’m proud to work for a company that genuinely takes care of people—not just its customers, but its employees too. I also take pride in being bilingual and using that skill to connect with more customers and give them a positive, personalized experience. WHY WILSON TOYOTA? It’s the people that make Wilson Toyota special. There’s a sense of teamwork and genuine care here that you don’t find everywhere. It truly is one of a kind. WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU HAVE LEARNED SINCE STARTING HERE THAT HAS SURPRISED YOU? What I have learned in being in the car business is that we aren’t in the car business industry we are the making relationships industry. The impact you make on customers matters. WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CAR? My first car was a 2016 Ford Escape. WHAT IS YOUR HIDDEN TALENT? I’ve recently gotten into couponing! After buying a house, I’ve been focused on saving where I can. There is nothing more satisfying then watching  the total at checkout  drop. July Happenings Looking ahead, we’re gearing up to participate in the Ames 4th of July Parade, and we can’t wait to see you there! Don’t forget that the dealership will be closed on July 4th so our team can enjoy the holiday with their families and take part in the parade. We’re also excited to be part of the Ankeny Parade on July 12th, and don’t miss the Lucky Star Market in Nevada on July 27th, which we’re proud to be sponsoring. Mark your calendars for a special event on August 9th! We’re thrilled to be partnering with the Animal Rescue League for a fundraiser right here at Wilson Toyota. There will be puppies and kitties to pet, a dunk tank, hot dogs fresh off the grill, Wilson swag, and more. All proceeds will go toward supporting the incredible work the ARL does in our community. Thanks for being part of the Wilson Toyota family — we’ll see you around the dealership and out in the community this summer!

May Recap: As May came to a close, we wrapped up the month with one of our most anticipated annual traditions—the Memorial Day Sales Event. It was a weekend full of great deals, great people, and gratitude for those who serve. Meet June's Employee Spotlight, Steven! STEVEN ESTRADA Sales Professional ABOUT I’m 22 years old, born in New York City, and raised in Orlando, Florida. Moving to Ames, Iowa, has been a big change, but I’ve really embraced this new chapter in my life. I have a strong love for cars and enjoy spending time with my girlfriend, Jordan, and our Scottish Fold cat, Chip. Since moving here, I’ve become a big Cyclone fan. My older sister lives in New York City and works in fashion, while my younger brother is currently attending Parsons School of Design there. My parents live in Orlando, Florida, where they work as missionaries with CRU. It’s inspiring to see my family pursuing their passions and making a difference, and it motivates me to stay focused on my own goals. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH WILSON TOYOTA? I’ve been with Wilson Toyota for about four years now, and it’s amazing how fast the time has flown by. I’ve really enjoyed growing with the team and helping customers find the perfect vehicle. It’s a great place to work, and the supportive atmosphere makes every day rewarding. WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF IN YOUR CAREER SO FAR? I’m incredibly proud of the journey I’ve had in this industry. Since transitioning into sales, I’ve committed myself to learning as much as possible and always putting my customers’ needs first. Building genuine connections, truly listening to what my customers want, and helping them find the right vehicle has been deeply rewarding. Every day, I’m reminded of the trust people place in me, which motivates me to keep growing and providing the best possible experience. I’m grateful to have sold over $10 million worth of vehicles in my first year, but what matters most to me is the trust and lasting relationships I’ve built with my customers. WHY WILSON TOYOTA? I chose to work at Wilson Toyota because of the strong reputation the dealership has for quality and customer service. I appreciate being part of a team that values integrity and puts customers first. What really sets Wilson Toyota apart is that it’s a family-owned business that has been serving the community for over 40 years, which creates a unique, welcoming atmosphere you don’t often find at typical car dealerships. The supportive environment here allows me to grow professionally while providing the best experience possible for my customers. It’s rewarding to work for a company that not only offers great products but also truly cares about the people it serves. WHO IS A WILSON TOYOTA EMPLOYEE WHO INSPIRES YOU? One co-worker that really inspires me is Josh Holz, our GSM. He’s a natural leader with a talent for bringing out the best in everyone around him. Even on the busiest days, he always leads with a calm, confident approach that earns everyone’s respect. He’s incredibly smart and speaks from real experience, always sharing practical insights and advice that come from truly knowing the business inside and out. What I also admire is his understanding and forgiveness—he recognizes that everyone has off days and is patient and fair when things don’t go perfectly. Watching how he supports the team and builds strong relationships with both customers and employees has been a huge inspiration to me and pushes me to keep growing every day. WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CAR? My first car was a 2001 Mustang convertible in Highland Green. It was such a fun car to drive, especially with the top down. That Mustang really got me hooked on cars and everything about the driving experience. WHAT IS YOUR HIDDEN TALENT? My hidden talent is surfing. I grew up in Florida spending a lot of time on the water, doing everything from boogie boarding and skim boarding to water skiing. I learned to surf there, and now that I’m in Iowa without an ocean, I’ve switched to wake surfing and am currently working on wake foiling. Summer starts at Wilson Toyota! Don’t let the heat drain your summer vibes—or your battery. Enjoy $20 off battery installation throughout June! Fresh air isn’t just for beach day —and a clean engine air filter keeps it running smoothly and efficiently. Get it for only $25 with any service! We will be at the Ames on the Half Shell every Friday in June, so be sure to stop by! June Service Specials
